In my last post, I looked back at my achievements in 2014. Now it’s time to look forward to my plans for 2015.
In reality, it’s more of the same…
More parkrun – both running and volunteering. I hope to complete my 100th parkrun in late January.
junior parkrun – as we head towards our 3rd year, it’ll be great to see how the event, and the juniors that take part, develop.
Race directing – I’m RD for the Lordshill 10K Road Race which is being held on Sunday 28th June. Work has already started in preparing for the events. If there are any LRR members that want to help organise the event, please get in touch!
LRR Mile Series – I’ll be actively involved with organising this series and hope to see it grow in 2015.
LRR training – I hope to attend regular training sessions.
Leader in Running Fitness – in February 2015, I’m planning to attend a Leadership in Running Fitness course with the intention of helping out at LRR training sessions.
LRR Vice Chair – I’ll be Vice Chair until the AGM in September. My main role will be to manage the process of attaining Clubmark accreditation.
Key races (road and triathlons) – I’ve got a few events lined up including Stubbington 10K, Eastleigh 10K, Southampton Half Marathon and the May Day Tri. There are also a few team events I’ve entered including Endure 24 and Equinox. I’ve also signed up for a couple more events but there’s a possibility that I may have to cancel those due to other commitments.
The Big One – in October 2015, I plan to run my first Marathon.
Training – all of the above will require a fair amount of training. This will also need a good balance with work and family. More time in the pool (covering about 200km) and in the bike (about 1600km) will be the focus of the first half of the year along with about 1600km of running.
The Dream Job – in April, I’m hoping to start a new job
Think that’s quite enough to focus on for the year ahead.
