Sprint triathlon training week 4 day 3 – STC swim

Hardly seems worth posting about this morning’s STC swim session as it’s a little like Groundhog Day.

As usual, I had the same battle with myself about whether to get out of bed or have 2 hours more sleep. Swimming own and I’m glad it did. As soon as I get in the pool, it seems worth it.

This morning, we started with 3 in the lane; Sonia, Jan and myself. Shortly into the session, Jon dropped down from lane 2 to join us.

We started with the usual 400m warmup before launching into various sets of 25m, 50m, 75m, 100m, 125m, 200m in all sorts of orders. Some were sprints, some were at a set pace. Most we without aids but some included pull buoy. As usual, as soon as I left the pool, the order of the sets escaped my mind. I recall we did lots of 3 sets of this, that or the other :-S

One bit I do recall vividly is leading us out for 4 x 25m sprint. Something I definitely wasn’t too keen on at first:

All in all, we covered a little over 3km. I definitely felt shaky at the end of it.

Tomorrow (Thursday) it’s Run Camp and I plan to cycle there and back (roughly 8km each way).
