Although the last chapter (my first triathlon) hasn’t ended yet (and won’t for another fortnight), tomorrow, a new chapter begins and it’s one I intend to get to the end of…
… The 16-week training plan to my first marathon starts. I’ve chosen the Bournemouth Marathon as its a new event and fairly local.
I’m using the novice plan from ‘Run Less Run Faster’ and that means 3 runs per week. I’ll also squeeze in a few swims and cycle workouts too.
In fact, it looks like the potential for between 8 and 10 workouts per week with the following draft plan:
M swim (pool)
T swim (lake) + run (tempo)
W swim (pool) + cycle (to/from pool)
T run (track repeats)
F swim (pool) + cycle (to/from pool)
S run (long)
