Week 1 update

The latter part of my training week has gone well with all workouts complete.

These have included the 3 mile tempo run, a swim (21 mins, 24 lengths, 64% efficiency) and a 6 mile long run.

My footpod is playing up so a new one is on its way. New running shoes have arrived (K-Swiss Kwicky Blade Lights).

Next week’s plan is as follows:

Mon – swim
Tues – Run
Wed – swim
Thu – Run
Fri – Swim
Sat – Run (tempo/parkrun)
Sun- Rest

Not sure whether long run (7 miles) will be Tuesday or Thursday.

Later this morning, I’ll be starting the Lordshill 10 Mile Road Race and funnel managing. Gulp!

In other news, had some really good feedback from my stint as Guest Speaker at last week’s Hampshire SPAA (Sport & Physical Alliance) conference.

Also, Sport Hampshire & IoW (SHIoW) have chosen me as Sport Maker of the Month for October. Really honoured to have been chosen. For more info on Sport Makers, check out http://www.sportmakers.co.uk/

We had over 500 runners participating at the Solent parkruns on Saturday (NA 87, Eastleigh 124, Southampton 290+). Really great milestone reached.

From the disappointment of last weekend’s GSR, things are looking much more positive.
